Recently, MgAgSb based thermoelectric material has been emerged as a promising alternative material to Bi2Te3 material for room-temperature applications. However, the high reactivity of Mg makes this material more prone to oxidation or hydroxylation while used in an air atmosphere. Thus, handling and processing in an open atmosphere became the most challenging part for MgAgSb-based materials. Based on this concept, our focus of this work was to reduce the oxidation potential by using coarser grain material instead of finer ones. In this work, two batches of MgAgSb-based material with coarse and fine grains were sintered separately and their thermoelectric properties were compared.
