Nanoporous (NP) SiO2 thin films were prepared by photo-oxidation of silsesquioxane-containing block copolymer films transferred onto anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) supports. Polyelectrolyte layer-by-layer nanofilms were deposited on the NP SiO2 thin films, hybrid films, which covered uniformly the AAO surfaces on a several hundred micrometer scale. Ionic diode characteristics of the nanoporous hybrid films with charge asymmetry were investigated by current–voltage measurements.
