It has been reported that the height and bulk density of CNT forests have a significant effect on the spinnability of CNT forests. However, some samples do not show spinnability even when the height and bulk density are within the appropriate range. In this study, we focused on the single CNT structure inside the forest and investigated the relationship between the outer diameter, inner diameter, number of layers, and spinnability using transmission electron microscopy. The results suggest that there is an optimum range of CNT density for the CNT forests to be spinnable.
