We propose the use of the MHz laser repetition rate as modulation frequency for lock-in detection in THz time domain spectroscopy. The fast modulation frequency translates to shorter data acqusition time necessary to achieve high signal-to-noise ratio, allowing for a faster mapping of the THz waveform and real-time monitoring of a dynamic THz signal with up to 10 kHz frequencies.
