When perpendicular and in-plane magnetizations coexist in a single system with interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, it has been found that both magnetization directions are coupled by the 90 degree chiral domain wall formed at the boundary, which is called chirality coupling. This is expected to offer new method for two-dimensional magnetization control through the chirality. In order to realize chirality-coupling-based spintronics devices, investigation of magnetization control with the chirality coupling using the giant magnetoresistive (GMR) and/or tunnel magnetoresistive devices are needed. In this study, as the first step, we have checked whether the anisotropy-modulated Pt/Co system can be created in a single GMR structure.
