We have investigated the superconductivity and magnetic properties of electron-beam evaporated (100)-textured β-Sn/FM (FM = Ni, Co) multilayer films as a function of the layer thicknesses and film microstructure. The superconducting critical temperature TC of Sn/Ni films is found to decrease from 3.88 K to 2.26 K when increasing the Ni layer thickness dNi from 0 nm to 7.6 nm. The observed variation of TC with dNi is presumably attributable to a proximity effect reportedly present near the interface between superconductor/magnetic layers. A similar trend has been observed in Sn/Co films.
