In the previous work, we found that the millimeter wave transmittance of liquid crystal cells with orthogonally combined wire grids can be controlled by changing the voltage applied across the cell. It is important to establish a design scheme to increase the variation in the millimeter wave transmittance. In this work, on the basis of experimental results, we discuss the influence of a wire grid width on the transmittance variation.
