[22a-P03-31]Preparation and Nonlinear Electronic Characteristics of Doped Hydrophobic Conducting Polymer Monolayers and Multilayers

Monolayer and multilayer networks of p-type semiconducting polymers, poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), were prepared by the co-spread method with liquid crystal molecules on water. This conductive polymer and the corresponding doping agents were mixed in chloroform and spread on water in the same manner to obtain doped semiconducting polymer monolayer and multilayer networks. We used 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (F4TCNQ) as doping materials. The surface morphologies of these films were observed by AFM. The doping states of these films were evaluated by UV–vis–NIR absorption spectroscopy measurements. Nonlinear electrical characteristics of the P3HT networks were investigated by current–voltage measurements, and voltage–time measurements of sinusoidal input signals with a different peak-to-peak voltage and frequency and its corresponding output signals.
