Refractive index sensing optical comb, which incorporates an MMI fiber sensor inside a fiber optical comb resonator and reads it out as an electrical frequency signal (repetition frequency frep), can measure the refractive index with high accuracy. However, since the refractive index-dependent frep shift is minute, ranging from tens to hundreds of Hz, amplification of this frequency change is required. In this talk, we report a method for frequency multiplication of the frep shift by detecting the beat signal of a CW-THz light source and a frep higher-order harmonic (THz comb) expanded up to the THz band.
