[22p-B205-17] Control of spontaneous orientation polarizations of bent-shaped polar molecules

Polar small molecules align their permanent dipole moments in vacuum-deposited amorphous films, resulting in the formation of film polarization called in spontaneous orientation polarization. The author's group reported that CF₃-based molecules exhibit high orientation degrees and large film polarization. In this research, the author revealed that the orientation didrection of bent-shaped molecules can be controlled by tuning of position of the CF₃-modifications.
