Liquid Crystal Elastomers,soft actuator
Among soft matter actuators, we focus on liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs), which are composed of liquid crystal molecules and polymer networks and can be deformed by the application of an electric field. However, LCEs deform by rotation of liquid crystal molecules when an electric field is applied. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of LCEs by tilting the initial orientation direction of liquid crystal molecules in order to realize deformation at a lower voltage.
