Thermoelectric devices based on polymer/CNT composite generally have thermoelectric layer in which polymer/CNT composite films are bundled. Such a thermoelectric layer exhibits high thermal conductivity in the vertical direction. In this study, we clarified by calculations that under the air-cooled environment, which is a general environment for wearable thermoelectric devices, reducing the vertical thermal conductivity improves power generation performance. In addition, a device having low vertical thermal conductivity was actually fabricated and evaluated.
