Nanoantennas with high refractive index and low extinction coefficient dielectrics enable sharp SLR excitation. In particular, TiO2 has a very high refractive index and transparency in the visible region, but absorption by the interband transition makes it difficult to apply in the ultraviolet region. In this study, we fabricated short-period nanoantennas composed of HfO2, which is a wide bandgap dielectric and revealed the superiority of HfO2 for UV applications from optical characterization.
