When lattice vibrations (phonons) propagate in a ferromagnetic material placed on a piezoelectric substrate, the interaciton with the collective motion of localized electron spins (magnons) causes a loss of phonon energy. In this study, we observed the phonon-magnon coupling using an unconventional, frequency-independent phonon detection method. Additionally, simultaneous measurements of phonons transmitted through the ferromagnetic material and those reflected from it revealed distinct absorption peaks.
