Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) has been attracting attention because of its potential to convert CO2 to a useful resource with zero emissions by using surplus electricity. Therefore, the development of catalysts is required for efficient electrolysis. In this study, we added amino acids to an electrodeposition bath and examined their effect on the morphology and crystalline structure of the resulting Cu electrodeposited on carbon paper and its performance and selectivity of products in the CO2 reduction reaction.
