A picogram-level mass resolution has been achieved using a twin-microbottle resonator which operates as a mass sensor in liquid. Here, we demonstrate sub-femtogram-level mass resolution by miniaturizing the device structure, improving the detection sensitivity, and stabilizing the measurement setup. This would be extended to the mass detection for smaller targets such as proteins and small molecules.
