Antireflection coatings for solar cells are usually designed to enhance the performance obtained at normal incidence. However, for indoor devices, the direction of light will be changed widely, depending on the position of light sources and the surface orientation of the devices. This study proposes a method to design antireflection coatings for indoor solar cells, which essentially takes into account the indoor lighting environment that is quite different from the outdoor one. We apply the proposed method to design multilayer antireflection film for organic photovoltaics, and show that this method can significantly improve the average efficiency at indoor conditions, as compared to that obtained by the conventional method.
