We demonstrated that the introduction of a rear spacer waveguide into a GaInAsP membrane DR laser enables the control of the resonance frequency of photon-photon resonance. Experimental results showed that by changing the waveguide length from 300 µm to 200 µm, the resonance frequency shifted from 10 GHz to 18 GHz. Such control of the resonance frequency is considered effective for the efficient utilization of wide bandwidth in millimeter-wave band applications in A-RoF transmission systems.
