Here, we have accomplished to obtain highly polarized thermal radiation from an aligned carbon nanotube film with a suspended structure. CNTs are well aligned and densely packed in the film, where the unique anisotropic characteristics are observed electrically, thermally, and optically. We fabricated a suspended light-emitting device using an aligned CNT film, and we have achieved to generate polarized thermal radiation with highly degree of polarization. The emission analysis shows that the suspended structure supports direct thermal radiation from an aligned CNT film and improves the efficiency performance of the thermal emitter. This device may open a new route for polarized-light applications.
