The structural changes of PADC samples due to gamma irradiation were investigated in the range of absorbed doses from 10 to 210 kGy and dose rates from 0.04 to 8.24 Gy/s. The results showed that the decrease in ether groups correlated with the increase in hydroxyl groups. This suggests that gamma irradiation cleaves the ether group, resulting in the formation of hydroxyl groups. Decreases in C=O and C-O-C, which constitute the carbonate ester group, were also observed.
