We have tried to develop stable compounds that could function as electron dopants for n-type organic semiconductors based on the dipyranilidene framework. As a result, derivatives with an N,N-dimethylaminophenyl group showed a remarkable rise in the HOMO level and were found to function as an electron dopant for BBL, a typical n-type semiconducting polymer. A vapor-processible n-type dopant has also been found, and the contact resistance of C60-based TFTs has been successfully reduced.
