Hyperdimensional computing (HDC) is a technique that enables low computational cost and high speed processing by using simple algorithms. In this study, we implement a tactile sensing technique in which tactile information is converted into high-dimensional light scattering pattern information by irradiating light inside a soft material, and then estimated and relearned by an algorithm based on HDC. This process is able to reduce the weight of the sensor and improve the efficiency of real-time tactile perception.
