[17a-C32-8] Crystallization of Polycrystalline YIG/Ce:YIG bilayer structure

In photonic integrated circuits, magneto-optic material Ce:YIG is used for optical isolators and optical switches. For the integration of this material with optical waveguides, Ce:YIG epitaxially grown on lattice matched SGGG is chip bonded. However, with chip bonding, there is a limit to the design where electrodes can only be deposited on the waveguide side. Therefore, the performance is limited. In this research, direct deposition and crystallization of magneto-optic materials on Si is considered.
