We, Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd.(SEI), continue of exploring new materials for the electric wire of next-generation. And focus on not only high temperature superconductors but also carbon nanotube (CNT) materials. In 2011, we started development of CNT electric wire. And continue up to the present day. Our developed CNT wire is achieved the length as long as 1km over. In this presentation, progress and history of the development of our CNT wire will be shown. Our CNT researches were partly supported by Japan national foundations, NEDO and ATLA.
