Thermocells are thermoelectric conversion systems that utilize the temperature dependence of redox substances in solution. They are characterized by a relatively large voltage per unit temperature difference (Seebeck coefficient) and the use of various organic and inorganic small molecules. We have reported that the Seebeck coefficient can be improved by introducing various temperature-responsive physico-chemical phenomena here. We reported that host-guest reactions of redox molecules, proton-coupled electron transfer reactions, phase transitions in polymers, and temperature dependence of micellar concentration are available. This symposium will report on recent progress.
