Invasive neural recording using microelectrode devices offers the advantage of detecting neuronal activities with high spatiotemporal resolution. However, implantation of these electrodes into brain tissue cause tissue damage due to pulsation and other factors. To address this issue, we designed and fabricated a 400-µm-length, 4-channel needle-electrode array device with nanoscale tipped electrode geometry.
