Exosomes (Evs) released from cells can be used for disease diagnosis and prediction. In our laboratory, we have established an immunoassay to capture single Evs isolated from serum using a plasmonic chip with fluorescence enhancement effect, and quantitatively evaluated them as bright spots under a fluorescence microscope. In this study, breast cancer cells MCF-7 seeded were incubated in dishes for several days and Evs released from cells were quantitatively evaluated by immunoassay on the plasmonic chip.
