Solid state nanopores are a technology used to non-destructively detect the ion current changes of biomolecules and particles by utilizing through-holes formed in a solid membrane on a silicon substrate. However, when measuring small substances, their high electrophoretic speed makes it difficult to obtain detailed resistance waveforms. Therefore, the viscosity of the electrolyte solution was increased using polyethylene glycol (PEG200) to slow down the particle passage speed within the nanopore. As a result, it was shown that the higher the viscosity, the more asymmetric the translocation dynamics becomes.
