Mg(OH)2 is transparent to visible light with a wide band gap and is an insulator. However, it is predicted by first-principles calculations to be conductive with appropriate impurity doping. In this study, Cu was selected as the impurity and Cu-Mg(OH)2 thin films were deposited by drop-dry deposition (DDD), which is a low-cost and large-area deposition method. Auger electron spectroscopy and current density-voltage (J-V) measurements were performed on the films.
