Photocatalysts, which convert solar energy into chemical energy, can be used for water splitting, CO2 reduction, and decomposition of pollutants, and have been widely studied over the past several decades to solve these problems. However, the practical application of photocatalysts has been limited due to the low photoenergetic efficiency caused by the rapid recombination of excited charge carriers. In this study, we aim to develop highly energy-efficient photocatalysts by growing g-C3N4 and SnS2, which are visible photocatalysts, on synthetic quartz substrates by CVD method in sequence to form heterojunctions.
