It was suggested in a previous presentation that the technology introduced could be applied to impart hydroxyl groups onto PTFE powder. This enables hydrophilization of PTFE powder without the use of dispersants, potentially leading to applications in high-performance coating materials, paints, and composite material components. Analysis of the PTFE powder treated with SAM processing using FT-IR ATR revealed the presence of hydroxyl groups. Furthermore, the treated PTFE powder exhibited improved dispersibility in water and appeared opaque.
