Phenol is an important compound in the chemical industry, and efficient and environmentally friendly phenol synthesis methods have been actively investigated as alternatives to the cumene method, which is currently the mainstream method. We have found that phenol is produced by mixing benzene and plasma-irradiated water. We will report the changes of phenol concentration with time when helium or dry air is used as working gas for the generation of plasma-irradiated water mixed with benzene.
