[18p-A33-4] Monovalent cation-dependent binding configuration of alkanethiol-modified gold nanoparticle dimers

AuNPs modified with carboxylic acid-terminated alkanethiols having different numbers of alkyl chain units were dispersion stabilized. These AuNPs were aggregated by monovalent cations (H, Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs) solution to produce a dimeric suspension with uniform particle size and gap distance. By comparing LSPR and Raman spectra of dimers with different monovalent cations by finite element spectral analysis, we discuss the binding mode of each dimerization with alkyl chain unit and monovalent cations.
