Plastic/ferroelectric crystals are made of polar and/or ionic globular molecules and exhibit three-dimensional spontaneous polarization, which is uncommon among molecular ferroelectrics. So far, we have shown that in-plane AC polarization switching in substances where lattice strain is insignificant results in formation of electrically poled stripe domain structure of ferroelastic domain walls perpendicular to applied electric field. Here, we report the mechanism of such unique domain dynamics revealed by investigating their repeatability and generality through observations under various conditions.
