In recent years, photonilc circuits for optical computing have been attracting significant attention. Integrating numerous optical phase shifters and optical intensity modulators on photonic circuits enables multiply-accumulate operation, leading to potential applications in generative AI. In this talk, we will introduce our research on photonic circuits for AI. In particular, we will discuss recent achievements in optical modulation devices using MOS capacitor, ferroelectric material, and phase-change materials that are essential elements for programming photonic circuits for AI.
