We are exploring new machine learning models applicable to integrated photonic circuits and proposed a nonlinear projection-based Photonic Neural Network (PNN) inspired by Support Vector Machines. In recent developments, we have considered vertically extended multilayer structure using the projection-based PNN as chiplets and recurrent networks in the form of optoelectronic hybrid systems. In this presentation, we will introduce the principles of these technologies, on-chip training methods, experimental demonstrations, and recent developments.
