Biointerfaces composed of cells, biomolecules and biomaterials often exist in liquids without a cleary-defined boudaries, but with difficulties to assess the properties by conventional methods for general materials in many cases. The authors have devised an air-injection-mediated liqiud-exclusion method to evaluate the properties of the interface by injecting gas into the object covered with liquid and removing the liquid. In the presentation, the author will introduce the various interactions of materials with liquids and gases, based on the knowledge obtained through the plenty of collaborations.
