Surface segregated monolayer (SSM) is a 2-dimensional surface layer formed on organic thin films by spontaneous segregation of fluoroalkylated molecules. We have synthesized the rod-like molecule containing biphenyl with moderate intermolecular interactions, which forms dense SSM on P3HT with significant vacuum level shift as large as 1.5 eV due to aligned dipole moment. The observed vacuum level shift caused asymmetric charge transport at the interface.
