Exciplex upconversion OLEDs (ExUC-OLEDs) can be driven at ultra-low voltages by triplet triplet upconversion (TTU), in which exciplex energy generated at the donor/acceptor (D/A) interface is transferred to the triplet state in the emitting layer. On the other hand, dipyrazino[2,3-f:2',3'-h]quinoxaline-2,3,6,7,10,11-hexacarbonitrile (HAT-CN), which has strong electron acceptivity, is effective as a hole injection layer, but excessive hole injection is reported to decrease the luminance However, excessive hole injection has been reported to decrease luminance. In this study, we investigated the insertion of a strong acceptor hole injection layer into ExUC devices and its thickness dependence.
