Perovskite solar cells were fabricated using functional transparent polyimide (TORMED®) as a base material. Compared to polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is often considered as a base material for film-type perovskite solar cells, transparent polyimide has higher durability and heat resistance. This makes it possible to fabricate solar cells using materials and processes that could not be employed with PET film. In this study, we focused mainly on heat resistance and investigated the unique coating conditions of transparent polyimide in each coating process.
