[19a-B6-9] Structural observation of filamentous structures constituting calcium alginate hydrogel

Calcium alginate is a soft material that is widely used in fields ranging from food to medicine. However, its structure has not yet been determined, and verification is still ongoing. In a previous study, we showed that by immersing calcium alginate hydrogel in a calcein solution for a long period of time, it is possible to extract the filamentous structures that make up the gel. In this study, we observed the extracted filamentous structures using STEM, and present images of the structures.
