To improve society's resilience against viral infections, it is necessary to develop a virus detection method that is both highly sensitive and rapid. In this study, we developed a norovirus (NoV) detection system based on the multi-particle concentrated digital immunoassay (MCDIA), which incorporates digital assay technology into the magnetic particle-based immunoassay technology we have developed. We achieved high sensitivity that exceeds that of the digital ELISA detection system (Simoa) both manually and using automated equipment. We also succeeded in reducing the time by about 1/4 by developing a rapid protocol that reduces the washing processes, etc.
