Currently, dry eye is diagnosed by the Schirmer test using filter paper or by visual observation of eye surface, but an objective and quantitative diagnostic method to replace these is desirable. In this study, we focused on the absorption peak of water near the wavelength of 1450 nm and investigated a non-contact measurement of water content on eye surface using diffuse reflected light by near-infrared absorption spectroscopy.
