The synthesis method for chiral plasmonic nanoparticles using circularly polarized light has attracted much attention because it does not require chiral molecules. However, the particles usually need to be immobilized on a solid substrate during the synthesis. In this study, by using circularly polarized light, we succeeded in synthesizing chiral plasmonic nanoparticles from gold nanoparticles dispersed in a solution. Furthermore, we found that different circular dichroism (CD) were observed depending on the morphology of the original gold nanoparticles.
