The computational power of software-based deep learning (DL) has improved remarkably. Accordingly, the practical application of artificial intelligence (AI) is spreading rapidly and having a developmental impact on society. However, high power consumption is also becoming an issue, and high-efficiency AI computing devices are needed. Here, we introduce material-reservoir computing devices, which have attracted attention as high-efficiency devices, and discuss their potential for social application.
