Spacecrafts are equipped with radiators on their surfaces to control the temperature of onboard equipment by thermal radiation. Smart Radiation Device (SRD) is a thermal control device that uses the metal-insulator phase transition of Mn oxide to change the emissivity with temperature. In this study, we aimed to improve the radiation characteristics of the SRD, synthesized polycrystalline samples with controlled chemical composition, and reported the results of evaluating the SRD characteristics through powder X-ray structural analysis and measurements of the temperature dependence of magnetization and electrical resistivity.
