Our group has been focusing on the development of semiconducting polymers incorporating thiazole-based fused rings. Recently, we reported that the polymers based on a newly developed fused ring named TBTz have demonstrated both high solubility and coplanarity, achieving significantly high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 16-17%. In this study, we synthesized new polymers based on novel fused ring with asymmetric structures named TNTz and TTBTz and evaluated their photovoltaic performances.
