L-dopa is a neurotransmitter of interest for its interaction with dopamine, and a method to selectively detect it is desired. We focused on single-molecule measurement and conducted experiments to develop a method to detect and discriminate between L-dopa and dopamine. pH7 measurements at pH7 did not discriminate between the signals of the two molecules because their conductances were close. pH3 measurements increased the current of L-dopa and decreased that of dopamine. The two molecules were successfully discriminated with an accuracy of 0.74.
