We have previously reported significantly higher Seebeck coefficients for poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) formed on PET fibers compared with PEDOT in general. In this study, poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), which is the same polythiophene system as PEDOT, was formed on felt fibers to investigate whether the Seebeck coefficient could be improved in the thermoelectric properties of P3HT. As a result, the Seebeck coefficient did not clearly improved. We will discuss on the factors from the viewpoint of molecular distortion and influence of the side chains associated with thiophene.
