So far, we have discussed the millimeter-wave transmission characteristics of liquid crystal cells with orthogonal wire grid electrodes at a certain operation frequency. In this work, we discuss the transmission change characteristics when the voltage is applied across the cell by comparing the simulated and measured transmission-frequency characteristics. It is revealed that a large transmittance change can be obtained by appropriately setting the pattern period and electrode width.
